Biography

Tong Haizhou was admitted to the direct Ph.D. program in Plastic Surgery at Peking Union Medical College in 2011 through recommendation without entrance examination. During his doctoral studies, he received the National Scholarship and the Third Prize at the 7th Song Ruyu Plastic Surgery Young Physicians Forum. Upon graduating with his Ph.D. in 2016, he was awarded the titles of Outstanding Graduate of Peking Union Medical College and Outstanding Graduate of Beijing Municipal Universities. After graduation, he worked and studied successively in specialized departments including the Cleft Lip and Palate Center, Craniomaxillofacial Center, Rhinoplasty Center, and Minimally Invasive Aesthetic Center. He has participated in multiple research projects, including those funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Capital Health Development Research Special Project, the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences Clinical and Translational Medicine Research Fund, and the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences National Medical and Health Science and Technology Innovation Project. He has long been committed to clinical and research work in the sequential treatment of cleft lip and palate, and is particularly skilled in using orthognathic surgery and distraction osteogenesis to correct various maxillofacial deformities associated with cleft lip and palate. Related achievements have been presented as special academic reports at multiple international and domestic conferences. He has published 5 related SCI articles and obtained 5 patents.
